“The Church must gather in the Upper Room ‘together with Mary, the mother of Jesus’ (Acts 1:14), in order to pray for the Spirit and to gain strength and courage to carry out the missionary mandate. We too, like the apostles, need to be transformed and guided by the Spirit.”
– St. John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. -Acts 2:42-43

Announcements:

This Friday, 12/9/16: It's a 2nd Friday, so we will have prayer ministry available. Since Upper Room will take a break for the holidays (Dec. 23 & 30), this will be your one chance to receive prayer ministry this month.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Dinner: All are invited to a Mexican dinner in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, Dec. 16, between Mass and Praise & Worship (~6:20-7:40pm) in the St. John Paul II Room. Bring a side dish or dessert to pass. RSVP if possible to Mary Jo at paquin.mj@gmail.com so we know how much Mexican deliciousness to provide. If you can come at the last minute but haven't RSVP'd, come anyway; we'll have extra! Then stay for "Evangelism and Eggnog".

Evangelization and Eggnog: Gathering with family and friends over the holidays often provides opportunities to witness to those who don't know Christ. There are ways we can prepare so that we can more effectively evangelize. On Friday, Dec. 16, Pete Burak, director of i.d. 916 at Renewal Ministries, will speak at Praise & Worship about our call to evangelize and ways we can do that over the holidays. Eggnog (non-alcoholic) and refreshments will follow. Invite family, friends, and anyone who wants to learn more about how to use these holy seasons to bring others to Christ!
